Dear Alice,

it is important that you know that drugs might not be dangerous if you just started to take them, but after some time you can see how they destroy your body. When you take drugs like heroin you feel very good for a short moment, but after this moment it will be horrible. I think you want to know why I know this. Last month I saw a documentary about drugs.

If he offers you to try it, refuse it, because he only wants you to stay with the crowd. If you still want to try it be aware too the consequences. One injection could be enough to make you an addict. As I said before, there will be a brief moment of good and a long bad time.

You might didn’t see that he destroying his body. Just wait some months and you will see how the drugs have ruined him. His future may be like living in the streets and he won’t have any money so he will steal money to buy himself drugs.

I think taking drugs is stupid because the only thing that you get is a ruined life. I hope that you will never try drugs.

Why did your dad want to leave the USA?

He wanted to, because he thought that he was unfairly treated and no one respected his inventions.

He was also against the religion.

What do you mean with no one respected his inventions?

You know he built a lot of things. For example the little boy, this machine could make ice out of water with no electricity, but his boss found that useless because the whole USA has enough electricity.

Did you like to leave the USA?

No I did not, but my whole family leaved so what else could I do.

How did you feel when you got to your new place?

I felt really uncomfortable. This jungle, you know, everywhere was wood and green, and I didn’t like it.

But after some days I accustomed to the jungle.

Do you know why and who shot your father?

I think he got shot because he inflamed the church, but I don’t know who shot him because it was night and I didn’t see many things.

The Mosquito Coast task 1

Hello Tom,

How are you? I hope that you are fine, because I am not. In this letter you will find out where I was the past few months. I left because my dad hated the USA and wanted to leave, because he was not happy there.

After his decision we went on a ship and drove to the jungle in middle Central America. As soon as we arrived there, we met Mr. Haddy who took us with his boat to jeronimo. We met there the Maywits, but that was not their real name. We built their small village and my father built a huge ice machine, which was called fat boy.

One day some soldiers came to our place and dad told them to go away, but they didn’t listen to him and so he locked them in the fat boy to freeze them to death. As soon as the soldiers realized what was going on they started to shoot and the chemicals of the fat boy inflamed and destroyed the village. After that we had to move on and we built a new village again. One day Mr. Haddy brought us some gas for our houseboat and we moved on. After some time we saw a real village with electricity, real houses and a church. My dad jumped out of the boat and disappeared into nowhere. Suddenly the church exploded and my dad appeared, but then someone shot my dad from behind and he died shortly after that.

I miss my dad because I loved him. Sometimes I think that he deserves the death because he did a lot of bad things. But he was also a good inventor and a good leader. Anyway I will see you when we get back to the USA.

Happiness

I am happy when I play baseball, because it’s real fun and I can play it with my friends. I like to play matches when it has 20 to 25 degrees outside, because it’s not to hot and not to cold. When I play I like to hit because it is the most complicated thing in baseball, but if you are good you can hit far and make points for the team.I am also happy when I can chill with my friends, because it’s really funny. For example you can go to the cinema, you can make a film night at home, you can go out with them and you can talk about some good themes.
I am happy when I can sit on my couch start the Xbox360 and play a game I like, for example ghost recon advanced warfighter 2, because I can forget there all my school troubles and so stuff witch stresses me. I also like it because if I can go out with friends I can play the whole night until I am so tired that I can play anymore.
