Globalization

1. Globalization affects employment of Austria:

A few people say, that the globalization reduces the Inflation, because the Inflation got smaller. But for Austria the textile industry is nearly dead. Almost all concerns closed because other counties are able to produce cheaper than Austria.

2. Austrian multinationals

  • Doppelmayr: The Group has production facilities and sales and service locations in over 33 countries of the world and to date has built more than 13.700 installations in over 78 countries.
  • Liebherr: The company exist since 1949 and was founded by Hans Liebherr. The turnover of the group in the year 2006 was 6.473 million €. The investment was 410 € and it has about 26.000 emlpoyees.
  • Rauch: Rauch is an international company, which delivers juices to all parts of the world.

3. Groups against globalization

Anti-globalization is a social movement that understands economic development as the expansion of markets for the interests of ruling elites. Activists in this subject have various concerns with the growing power and influence of this global marketplace.

Anti-globalization is a grassroots movement to counter the trend of globalization and its harmful effects, and to reform unbridled capitalism.

4. How can we support Fair Trade?

We can support it when we buy things with the Fair Trade sign, even though they’re very expensive. If we support Fair Trade we help 3rd world countries against child labour.

5. Opinion about globalization

I think globalization is good because the whole world gets connected through the internet, which means that the countries don’t have these problems with connecting between them. It’s also good because of the internet so you don’t have to drive to a library to search in a book.
